Llandudno Town 5 Porthmadog 0

LLANDUDNO TOWN thumped Porthmadog 5-0 to keep up their recent run of good form.

The Maesdu Road outfit continued the surge up the table which has seen them collect eleven points from the last fifteen available, with the west Wales outfit the latest to receive a footballing lesson from the seasiders.

With a swirling wind making playing conditions difficult, Town were on the back foot during the opening exchanges, with Paul Whitfield needing to be at his best to deny Porth striker Paul Roberts.

After biding their time during a tough opening half hour, Tudno finally made the breakthrough when Danny Hughes slotted home at the far post following a Jordan Kane cross.

With just seconds of the first half remaining, Neil Coverley smashed home a long-range freekick to double the lead, putting Llandudno firmly in control for the second half.

Iwan Williams netted against his old club to make it three on 73 minutes, sending in a clinical finish after a pinpoint cross from Lee Thomas.

Sean Eardley was the next man to lay on a goal, with the left back putting the ball on a plate for Ryan Williams to make it 4-0 ten minutes from time.

A surging run from substitute Zac Evans completed the rout four minutes later, bringing the ball from midfield before drilling past the Porthmadog keeper to round off an outstanding afternoon for the Seasiders.

Town now sit fourth in the Huws Gray Alliance table, ahead of Penrhyncoch's trip to Maesdu Road this Saturday.
