A REDDITCH mum who runs her own photography business has been named runner-up Most Inspirational Mumpreneur for the Midlands.

Celia May, 43, was presented the accolade from Mums in Control, which offers support and advice to working mums and those setting up their own business.

Celia’s photographic career started when the Independent newspaper ran a travel feature on her Galapagos Islands collection.

That was the moment she decided to turn her passion for photography into a business reality with the result being Celia May Photography.

“Owning my business and doing something I love is the best thing ever and has given me the freedom to nurture my two daughters,”she said.

“I hope that my achievements will inspire other mums and prove that turning a passion into reality is possible.

“I also believe that I’m a good role model for my own daughters and will encourage them to follow their own dreams.”

The aim of the awards is to highlight those women who are most likely to inspire others through their achievements.

Rachael Taplin, managing director of Mums in Control, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Celia has been named runner up as Most Inspirational Mumpreneur for the Midlands.

“All mums who run their own business work incredibly hard. At Mums in Control we wanted to recognize this and to highlight the achievements of these amazing women through our Awards programme.

“We hope our award winners like Celia offer inspiration to other mums considering taking this step.”
