Quorn 0 Colwyn Bay 2Two goals from on form striker Neil Black secured the win, the fourth out of five, to put the Bay right into the mix of contender, with the next two games pivotal to future successes with the club looking for
bumper support from their fans.
Manager Gary Finley was strong in his support of his players, he said: "They have stood up to playing two games a week with long journeys to important away games starting early and returning late. Their efforts for the club have been great and have paid off when it was thought by some that 12th was about where we would finish.
"The two home games are massively important and can be won but they won't be the end of anything .we will have to scrap to the end for all the points we can get.One pleasing aspect of our game is at the back where we are improving as players settle and have adapted to the changes we have had to make."
Neil Black's two goals, one in each half, takes him to 25 league and cup goals the first having the added value in coming after the home side were having the best of things on 42 minutes - he finished off a passing bout with a shot from 14 yards from a narrow angle.
Black's second came on 52 minutes and gave keeper Sean Bowles no chance.
The home side applied some pressure of their own only for a couple of smart saves by Jamie Speare to deny them on another long Saturday for Bay's players.
Colwyn Bay played Stocksbridge last night (Tuesday) and will face Camel Lairds on Good Friday.
