COLWYN Bay extend their unbeaten run under Alan Morgan with a 1-1 home draw with Ossett Albion.

The visitors came out of the blocks flying and almost went ahead on two minutes when a 25-yard effort from Adam Priestley flew narrowly over the bar, while Bay defender Kyle Jacobs produced a fine block to deny another goalbound effort.

Another chance went begging for Albion on 11 minutes when Lebrun Mbeka was unable to finish off a fine team move when his shot flew over the bar, while at the other end a dangerous Danny Andrews free-kick evaded everyone with the goal at their mercy.

Bay had a shout for a penalty waved away on 24 minutes after Jack Hindle went down in the box, and their improved play brought with it two chances as Ashley Mullholland and Will Booth both had chances thwarted.

The away side continued to press and looked to have take the lead on 33 minutes, but somehow Alex McQuade headed over after a Scott Metcalfe drive was superbly saved by Matt Cooper, while Bay were also having their moments and could have gone ahead on 36 but Danny Bartle scuffed his effort wide after being teed up by Andrews.

Cooper was called into action once again to save at the feet of Priestley on 39 minutes, but after the break saw the home side come out with a renewed sense of purpose and they went ahead on 50 minutes when Bartle turned in a Jacobs cross to open the scoring.

The visitors responded well to the setback and Copper had to be at his best to deny Aiden Chippendale and James Hurtley in quick succession, and the former spurned another chance on 66 minutes when he effort sailed over.

Albion defender Josh Grant was fortunate to escape with only a booking after bringing down Hindle in a promising position, but the outstanding Chippendale’s persistence paid off on 78 minutes when he prodded home from close range to level matters.

A defensive error almost gifted the away side a winner on 82 minutes but Scott Metcalfe's chip went over, while Hurtley also headed over from close range on 85 during a worrying spell for the Seagulls, but they managed to hold on to claim a share of the spoils from a pulsating contest.
