COLWYN Bay have pulled off a transfer coup with the signing of Tom McCready from AFC Fylde.

The talented midfielder joins the Seagulls on an initial one-month loan deal and is the latest big name to join the ranks since the appointment of manager Alan Morgan, assistant Craig Hogg and coach Neil Coverley.

The 26-year-old joined the National League side during the summer having previously represented Exeter City, and made 11 appearances for the promotion hopefuls during the current campaign.

A former Everton youth graduate has found opportunities hampered by injury and last turned out for Dave Challinor’s men in December against Tranmere Rovers.

McCready has also been with Altrincham, Chester and Morecambe as well as having a spell in America on a scholarship with Limestone College.

Bay’s clash against Tadcaster Albion fell victim to the weather on Saturday, but there was still good news as five of their playoff rivals dropped points in their respective fixtures.

This leaves Morgan’s side in tenth spot with games in hand over the majority of teams above them, and they are eight points off sixth placed Trafford with five in hand of the final playoff spot.

They return to action this Saturday when they host Kendall Town, who are currently eight points behind Bay in 14th spot.
