LLANDUDNO Cricket Club are aiming to increase youth participation in the area after forming a partnership with three schools.

Pupils at Ysgol Gogarth, Blessed William Davies and Ysgol Awel y Mynydd will now be offered discounted indoor nets who attend the sessions, which begin on Friday, January 19.

The club have also offered an outdoor coaching session at The Oval during the spring in addition to coaches visiting the schools during the summer teem.

The three sites will also promote the All-Stars cricket initiative with the ECB for pupils attending the school between five and eight-year-olds which will commence in May 2018.

A club spokesman, said: “Llandudno CC have offered this partnership at no cost to the schools and continue to work within the local community at no cost and to foster and promote cricket.

“The club hope that in response to this volunteer work that the establishment in the area recognise this and will assist in the promotion and recognition of the clubs efforts in promoting work with young people in the local community and helping the club to secure its future locally.”

The indoor nets will be taking place at Ysgol John Bright Leisure Centre, with U11 sessions running from 6-7pm and over 11s from 7-8pm.

The ten week session will cost £20 per child with siblings £10. Costs will cover leisure centre hire.

Both male and female youngsters are welcome to attend, with new players welcome.
