LLANDUDNO Cricket Club have signed up to a cricket partnership with three schools in the area.

The club have contracted with Ysgol Awel y Mynydd in Llandudno Junction, together with Blessed William Davies and Ysgol Gogarth in Llandudno to provide free coaching sessions over a prolonged period.

Despite Conwy county council and Mostyn Estates preventing the club from raising valuable funds at their popular car boots on the Oval, the club have still provided the resources to offer free training in the community to the schools to raise the profile of the sport and increase participation.

The schools welcomed the club coaches with open arms and were happy to provide curriculum access to provide coaching to the children on Friday April 27.

The club run local training sessions every Monday evening at 5.30pm at The Oval for children of primary school age.

They are also running on behalf of the England and Wales Cricket Board the popular All Stars sessions aimed at children between five to eight-years-old, commencing on Friday evenings from June 1 and every Friday thereafter until the end of the summer term.

As well as offering junior sessions the club are inviting ladies and girls interested in having a go at cricket to attend softball training alongside the All Stars sessions, and anyone wishing to know more should contact the club on 01492 871966 after 6pm.
