HOLYHEAD Hotspur manager Darren Garmey has secured extensions for two prominent squad members ahead of the new season.

The Holy Islanders’ boss has tied down the influential duo of John Littlemore and Tomos Clarke as he looks to improve the squad’s fortunes in the Huws Gray Alliance following their disappointing 12th placed finish last term.

This is the latest positive news since the appointment, with the club swooping to secure the signatures of goalkeeper Carl Jones and Jamie Roberts from Prestatyn Town and Conwy Borough respectively.

Littlemore joined the Anglesey side last summer after a spell with JD Welsh Premier League standouts Cardiff Met, and despite the team’s struggles during the second half of the campaign he still managed to finish on 11 league goals thanks to a string of impressive performances.

Also signing on the dotted line was the energetic Clarke, who provided a strong presence on the field with his surging runs and leadership qualities.

One player who has departed the New Stadium is goalkeeper Paul Pritchard, who announced the decision last week and has joined second tier rivals Porthmadog.

The former Caernarfon Town stopper is widely regarded as one of the most consistent performers operating outside of the top flight, but Garmey moved swiftly to offset the significant loss with the acquisition of Jones from the recently relegated Seasiders.
