LLANDUDNO Albion turned in a virtuoso display to secure a 2-0 triumph over Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One rivals Barmouth and Dyffryn United.

The home side wasted no time in putting their mark on proceedings and took the lead after just ten minutes when the impressive David Maddox continued his excellent run of form with another well-taken effort.

Despite dominating the contest they were unable to convert any of the chances that came their way until after the break, and it was Maddox who was again the beneficiary of some neat approach play when he notched his second of the afternoon to complete the scoring on 75 minutes.

The result leaves Albion third from bottom in the standings, although they do have a significant amount of games in hand over their rivals in what is their first season plying their trade in the third tier.

Division Two leaders Glan Conwy extended their advantage at the summit with a convincing 2-0 success at derby rivals Mochdre Sports.

With Prestatyn Sports’ game once again falling victim to the weather, the promotion candidates took full advantage and opened the scoring on 18 minutes through Cai Jones.

Jamie Jones fired them further ahead on 29 minutes, and they saw out the remainder of the contest in comfortable fashion to move ten points clear of Sports, who have an astonishing seven games in hand on their championship rivals.
