LLANDUDNO Junction are still without a Huws Gray Alliance win after they suffered a heavy 6-1 home loss to title chasing Denbigh Town.

After parting ways with manager Iain Bennett and losing top scorer Dean Seager last week, the Railwaymen were shown no mercy by Eddie Maurice-Jones’ men in what was a one-sided affair throughout.

They remain rooted to the foot of the standings having played more games than their relegation rivals, and another stern test awaits them on Saturday when the basement dwellers travel to a resurgent Rhyl (2.30pm).

The visitors took control of proceedings early on when the prolific Josh Davies found the net on 17 minutes, but Junction responded well to the setback and levelled matters on 24 through Sean McCaffrey.

That was as good as it got for the hosts, who were completely outplayed for the remainder of the period which resulted in Gareth Partridge hitting a quick-fire double on 31 and 45 minutes to put Town in the ascendancy.

The same pattern of play continued after the break, and it was the away side who struck again on 53 minutes when Kristian Pierce’s thumping effort found its way into the net, and the impressive forward capped off a memorable individual performance with his second of the afternoon 57 after another period of prolonged possession.

There was still time for further salt to be rubbed into the home side’s wound, and it was Davies who rounded off the scoring with another well-taken finish on 67 minutes to take his tally to 16 league goals for the season.
