LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams has been give the chance to boost his coahing qualifications after being accepted on to the UEFA Pro License course.

The former Caernarfon Town boss replaced Alan Morgan earlier in the season and is a significant achievement for the 32-year-old.

Williams, said: "I’m honoured and privileged to have been offered a place on the prestigious FAW UEFA Pro Licence course.

“It’s the highest level of qualification to achieve in your managerial career and I’ve worked incredibly hard to earn a place. I can’t wait to start the course and continue my development in football."

The manager’s immediate attention turns to Tudno’s Welsh Cup clash against Newtown on Saturday at the Giant Hospitality Stadium (2.30pm), with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

Welsh Cup is such a prestigious competition with huge tradition. Getting us to the semi-final for the first time ever gives us added motivation, however if you can’t get up for a Welsh Cup Quarter Final then you shouldn’t be playing football,” added Williams.

“We’re down to the bare bones but I managed to get to the semi-final with Caernarfon last season with 11 fit players.

“Sometimes being low on numbers helps bring you together as you have to work hard for one another.”

New signings Jay Gibbs, Robbie Parry and Wes Baynes are all cup tied for the clash having played in the competition for their previous clubs.

Gibbs is now eligible for their JD Welsh Premier League encounter with Prestatyn Town after serving his suspension, and geared up for his debut with an appearance for the U19’s last weekend against Conwy Borough.

Williams, said: “Jay is a fantastic midfielder with everything in the locker. He’s tenacious, has a pass in him, can score goals.

“He’s unproven at this level yet, but is a bit of an unknown for the league. He played for the 19’s on Sunday and looked impressive throughout.”
