LLANDUDNO Amateurs boosted their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One title hopes with a sensational 20-0 home win over Betws-y-Coed.

One of the biggest victories anywhere in the North Wales region this season was one of just two games that survived the adverse weather conditions, and the result leaves the promotion hopefuls two points behind Llandudno Athletic with two games in hand.

Todd Davies got the hosts off to a flyer on three minutes, and this was swiftly followed by goals from Steve Kirk, Michael Chapman and Joseph Jones within the opening 17 minutes.

The outstanding Kirk grabbed four more throughout a dominant first period, with Matthew Roberts, Ryan Thomas and Jones giving them a superb advantage at the break.

After the interval saw the same pattern of play continue, with Chapman and Davies netting twice in quick succession within minutes of the restart.

The home side were ruthless in-front of goal, with Roberts bagging a brace to complete his hat-trick, and Thomas, Aaron Rogers, Jordan Dixon, Dean Hughes and Kirk also found the target to complete the rout, with Llan averaging a goal every four and a half minutes.

Llanrwst United Reserves advance to the Progress School of Motoring Presidents Cup third round with a 3-1 success at Rhos United.

An own goal got the visitors on their way after ten minutes, and things got even better for the Rwsters midway through the half when Azon Hughes finished well on 25.

After the break saw United get themselves back into the contest courtesy of a Phemmy Alison strike on 55 minutes, but the away side held firm in the face of stern pressure and booked their place in the hat on 75 when Steven Parry found the target.

They now face the prospect of a trip to either Abergele or Llandudno Amateurs in the next stage.
