KINMEL Bay advanced to the Progress School of Motoring Presidents’ Cup third round with an emphatic 5-1 win over Y Glannau.

The home side wasted no time in making their presence felt and went ahead on 13 minutes through an effort from the in-form Ashley Wood, and they doubled their advantage on 33 when James Hay notched his first of the afternoon in fine style.

This was followed up by a third on 43 minutes which arrived courtesy on Kieran Ellis after Adam Hall gave the visitors some hope on 38, and a path to the next stage was confirmed shortly after the break when Hay drilled home his second on 52.

The exclamation point was put on proceedings after 75 minutes, and Hay rounded off a superb individual display with his hat-trick to complete the scoring.

Also through to the next round are Llanfairfechan Town, who had a James Corey effort to thank for their 1-0 home victory over Cerrigydrudion.

Just one Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division game survived the adverse weather conditions, with goals either side of half-time from James Ward and Jack Hoult giving Abergele a 2-1 success at Rhyl Youth, who had Corey Brewerton on target.

Llandudno Athletic still head the Division One standings after strikes from Mike Williams, Danny Talbot and Joel Jones gave them a 3-0 home win over Denbigh Development, while Aaron Hands and Brett Durkan both his hat-tricks for Rhos United in their 6-2 triumph over Llandyrnog United Reserves.

A strong second half display saw Llysfaen come away with a 4-0 home success over Betws-y-Coed thanks to goals from Tom Collier, Alec Jones, Wayne Evans and Nathan Russell.
