LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams rued his side’s poor start in their 2-2 draw with Prestatyn Town.

An improved second half effort saw them come within a whisker of claiming all three points, but a James Stead penalty on 88 minutes ensured they had just a point to show for their efforts.

The Tudno boss, said: “It has taken us 45 minutes to get going and we went from looking like a pub team to a top six side in the second half.

“One the balance of play Prestatyn did deserve something out of it but we have been hard done by twice in as many weeks by referees.

“The target is to get safe and I have been told not to compromise the squad as there are players who are fighting for their places in the summer, so the sooner we get safe the better so that we can start planning for next season.

“Prestatyn play with a high intensity and they are going to take points off the teams around us between now and the end of the season, we have a free weekend now so the lads will be in three times to get them that little bit sharper as it is just taking us too long to get going.

“You can sense they are feeling the effects of not winning games which shows they care. I have been vocal and critical in the last few weeks but the second half shows they have it in them and if we can get the right tempo from the first minute then who knows what we can achieve.”
