LLANDUDNO will look to get their JD Welsh Premier League season back on track this Saturday when they travel to Newtown (2.30pm).

Iwan Williams’ side have had their hopes of a Europa League playoff spot significantly dented in recent weeks, which has seen them fall seven points behind Barry Town United after losing four of their last six contests.

The recently appointed manager has been working tirelessly with player-assistant Matty Williams to implement a new style of play on to the squad, and there has also been a large turnover in players during the January transfer window as he looks to bring his own brand of player to the set-up.

Despite the recent concerning run there were plenty of positives to take from the second half of their 2-2 draw with Prestatyn Town, which saw them denied a vital three points thanks to a last minute penalty from James Stead.

Midfielder Jay Gibbs showed signs of promise in his first game since re-joining Williams from Huws Gray Alliance leaders Caernarfon Town, while Danny Shaw is another that seems to be thriving in the new system if recent performances are anything to go by.

While the Tudno boss has stated that safety is now his main priority, he will be keen to avenge the JD Welsh Cup quarter final defeat suffered at the hands of the Robins, and with the bottom three all to come in their remaining four games, plus another clash with Barry, there is still time to get back into the coveted seventh spot and gain an opportunity to return to European football.

Following Saturday’s clash, they will host Aberystwyth Town before travelling to Carmarthen Town, and close out their home fixtures against Barry Town United and ending with a trip to Prestatyn Town.
