COLWYN Bay have received a boost with the news that Tom McCready has extended his stay until the end of the season.

The midfielder has been at the centre of the Seagulls’ turnaround since arriving at Llanelian Road, and he is set to play a huge part in their Evo-stik North run-in which begins at home to Skelmersdale United on Saturday (3pm).

He was granted a contract termination by AFC Fylde, and has signed on a permanent basis for Alan Morgan’s side until the summer.

The 26-year-old joined Fylde in the summer after spending two seasons with League Two Exeter City, but he has only made 11 appearances for National League side this season, the last being against Tranmere Rovers in December.

Previous to joining Exeter the Everton youth team graduate had spells with Altrincham, Chester and Morecambe and also had a season in America.

Another Bay loanee, Billy Sass-Davies, gained further international experience as part of the Wales U19 side that took on Croatia this week.

The talented defender, who is contracted to Crewe Alexandra, turned in a positive performance but was unable to prevent the Welsh from suffering a 3-0 reverse.
