A FUNDRAISING page has been set up in memory of a Llandudno Football Club stalwart who died recently.

More than £500 has already been raised for the family of Tony Healy, who was a supporter, committee member and volunteer at the Giant Hospitality Stadium who died suddenly in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The Llandudno FC supporters’ group have set up the page in aid of his two sons and wife to help with funeral costs.

A post of his JustGiving page, said: “Tony Healy was a massive part of the football club, both supporting and going out into the community promoting the club.

“His passion for the Seasiders was evident and he was synonymous with everything we did.

“We are looking to raise some funds to help towards funeral costs or whatever his family would like it for.”

Tributes continue to pour in for the much-loved community figure, known fondly as the ‘Red Van Man’.

Midfielder Danny Hughes, who was presented with the Llandudno supporters’ player of the year by Mr Healy last summer, said: “Absolutely gutted to hear Tony passed away. He was a brilliant bloke.

“Heart of gold and would do anything for anyone! One of a kind. He’ll be missed massively around the town and club. Keep the faith.”

Martin Lyons posted a comment on the Pioneer’s Facebook page, saying: “Absolutely one of the nicest guys I have ever met. An absolute credit to the town and his family, always so positive and friendly.”

Another club mainstay Doz Langley, added: “Tony’s zest for life and positive outlook was so infectious. He will be missed and remembered by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.”
