LLANSANNAN held on to their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division title hopes with a 5-3 home victory over Machno United.

Despite the eventual result it was the visitors who drew first blood when Rhydian Williams found the net after 19 minutes, but a double from Ifan Jones on 21 and 31 saw the hosts go into the break with a slender advantage.

United levelled matters a minute after the restart through Jamie Williams, but goals at both ends within moments of each other from Geraint Jones and Kevin Owen continued the free-scoring nature of both sides heading into the final quarter.

Jones capped off his brilliant day on 79 minutes to secure his hat-trick, and Sannan wrapped up the points in stoppage time through Gwion Evans to leave them seven points behind Kinmel Bay with a game in hand.

A treble from Tomos Tryfan Jones was the catalyst behind Cerrugydrudion’s 5-1 rout over Abergele, which sees them move clear in fourth spot.
