LLANDUDNO Amateurs left it late before beating Bro Cernyw 5-3 in their Progress School of Motoring Presidents Cup semi-final clash.

The hosts went into the break two goals to the good thanks to strikes from Martin Hughes and Ste Kirk, and the latter was on hand to treble their tally after the interval on 55.

This provoked a strong fightback from Bro, who got back into the tie on the hour mark through Colin Roberts, only for Todd Davies to restore their cushion shortly after.

A quick-fire brace from Roberts and Ioan Williams ensured a nervy ending to proceedings, but the prolific Kirk rounded off the scoring on 83 minutes to complete his hat-trick.

Also gaining success were Rhyl Youth, who advanced to the Normac Precision Engineers Premier Cup final with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Kinmel Bay.

The home side gained an early advantage when Josh Brown found the net on 29 minutes, before Matt Baker doubled their tally on 43.

Bay hit back instantly courtesy of a James Jones effort in first half stoppage time, and they got back on level terms after the break when Ben Pamment struck on 80 after a period of pressure.

A frantic finish saw Allan Russell put the hosts ahead with a well-taken finish on 85 minutes, but the game looked to be heading into extra time when Jones notched his second of the afternoon shortly after.

There was still time for more drama, with Brown sending the young Lilies’ into the showcase with a stunning strike in the eighth minute of stoppage time to send the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division leaders crashing out of the competition.
