LLANSANNAN enjoyed a memorable weekend of league and cup success to continue a memorable season for the club.

Gari Evans’ side clinched the Normac Precision Engineering Premier Cup thanks to a 2-1 victory over Rhyl Youth at the home of Denbigh Town, with Gruff Roberts and Robin Jones finding the net to achieve the crown.

This was swiftly followed by a 2-1 home win over Cerrigydrudion to keep their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division title hopes alive for another week, but they were dealt a blow as championship favourites Kinmel Bay returned to action with an emphatic 5-3 triumph at Rhyl Youth.

A treble from Kie Ellis did the majority of the damage, with Jamie Jones also hitting a brace for Leon Field’s men, who are seven points clear having played a game more than their title rivals.

Jamie Williams struck late for Machno United in their 2-1 win over Old Colwyn, while Iwan Jones hit a hat-trick for Llanfairfechan Town in their 3-1 victory at Y Glannau.

Llandudno Athletic advanced to the REM Jones Cup final with a 5-1 win at Llandyrnog United Reserves, but they lost further ground in the Division One title race to Llandudno Amateurs following their 10-2 triumph at Rhuddlan Town.

Adam Williams, Jac Glover and Steffan Thomas all scored for Henllan in their 3-0 success at Llysfaen, with Llanfairfechan Town Reserves secured a 5-1 win over Denbigh Development.

Rhos United left it late to seal a 2-1 victory over Betws-y-Coed, with Robbie Gaze netting the decisive goal on 82 minutes.
