LLANDUDNO have confirmed the appointment of Mark Orme as their new U19 manager.

The former defender will take over from Sean Eardley, who has given up the post to concentrate more on his commitments with JD Welsh Premier League side Caernarfon Town.

Eardley will still be working with the Academy set-up next season and received plenty of praise from his replacement when the announcement was made.

Orme, said: “I am really pleased to be offered the opportunity to take the U19’s on from the great work that Sean has done with them.

“I believe strongly in producing your own players and with the talented squad that is already here my aim is to work closely with the first team management to get them to take the next step in to first team football.

“Having worked here in different roles before I feel the club is looking to move forward in the right direction and I am excited to be a part of that.”

First team manager Iwan Williams hailed the news as “fantastic” and is another significant change by the boss as he continues to implement his ethos throughout all areas at the club.

“Mark is about as professional as they come and will add so much value to me personally never mind the club as a whole,” he added.

“The changes we’re looking to implement moving forward will provide the academy with a complete pathway from the younger ages to the first Team, and I’m glad Mark has committed to the role as he will have a massive part to play in being the link required between me and the fantastic 19’s squad we’ve got.”
