LLANFAIRFECHAN Town sealed runners-up spot in the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division thanks to an emphatic 5-1 home rout over Llansannan.

The home side managed to open the scoring on 32 minutes after a cagey opening from both sides through Jay Haggas, but Gari Evans’ side struck back almost immediately when veteran striker Leon Gierke’s fine strike after 40 levelled matters.

After the interval saw the hosts completely dominate proceedings, and Haggas was on hand to secure his second of the afternoon to regain their advantage on 56 minutes.

This was following by another after 73 minutes which arrived courtesy of Ryan Dodd, and they finished the game strongly with further efforts from James Corey and Curtis Murray on 87 and 89 to round off the scoring.

Division One champions Llandudno Amateurs ended their campaign on a high with a narrow 1-0 win at derby rivals Llandudno Athletic.

A Ste Kirk strike after 25 minutes was enough to give the visitors another triumph against the side that ran them closest to the championship throughout the season.

Rhos United also picked up a notable win on their travels as they recorded a 4-2 success at Llanrwst United Reserves.

A two-goal salvo from Brett Durkan did the majority of the damage, with Ben Whale and Tom Court also hitting the target.

St Asaph City Reserves continued their free-scoring end to the season with a thumping 10-3 victory over Betws-y-Coed.

The prolific Aiden Bell was in sensational form and hit five for the rampant Saints, with an Ethan Jones treble and a Kallum Darroch brace completing the rout.
