LLANDUDNO produced another resolute display to draw 0-0 with title chasing JD Welsh Premier League rivals Bangor City.

Iwan Williams’ side secured a second clean sheet in succession to emerge with a share of the spoils, with the pair set to square off once again on New Year’s Day in-front of the S4C Sgorio cameras (5.15pm).

An even opening to proceedings brought little in the way of chances, with Danny Shaw’s sliced clearance almost finding a way past Tudno stopper Dave Roberts on 12 minutes.

Laurence Wilson’s shot from distance hit the side netting for the visitors on 20 minutes, while at the other end a James Joyce thunderbolt sailed over the bar.

Roberts was called into action again midway through the half when he turned a Steven Hewitt header past the post, and he also made a smart stop to deny Luke Wall soon after during a dominant spell from Kevin Nicholson’s men.

Gradually the home side managed to impose themselves on proceedings and they were unfortunate not to have a goal to show for their improved effort as Toby Jones spurned two good opportunities towards the end of the first period.

After the break saw the hosts come close again when a Shaun Cavanagh effort went narrowly over, and forward Marc Williams headed over from close range on 64 minutes after good approach play from Jones.

The in-form Dean Rittenberg brought the best out of Roberts on 68 minutes to keep the scores level, while James Demetriou rattled the upright after a George Harry strike was once again saved by the home custodian.

City had the perfect chance to claim all three points when they were awarded a penalty on 87 minutes, but Demetriou’s spot kick was saved brilliantly by Roberts to seal the draw.
