LLANDUDNO face a make-or-break clash to make the JD Welsh Premier League top six after a 1-1 home draw with Bala Town.

Iwan Williams’ men travel to Cefn Druids on Saturday (5.15pm) in their final Phase One fixture, with the winner almost certain to be in the top half of the table for the second half of the campaign.

Three points separate the Ancients and seventh placed Tudno, with the former Europa League qualifiers enjoying a slightly superior goal difference which could be crucial if the manage to claim three points at The Rock.

Williams, said: “Its disappointing in a sense as the first 45 minutes were the best we have played since I’ve been in charge.

“The lads were phenomenal, we carve them open with intensity and created lots of chances. My only criticism at half time was that we were not more then one up.

“We knew they’d come out fighting as Colin (Caton) wouldn’t have accepted that first half, but I am proud of the lads and asked them to take it to the last game and it is a straight shootout now.

“I had the mentality of rather lose 4-0 and have a go than lose 1-0 and not have a go, so I tried to throw them off with our personnel and we steamrolled them but should have put to bed. However, I can’t fault the effort and it is going to be exciting for the league to have it go to the last game.

“Mike Williams went off injured but I don’t think it will keep him out of the Druids game. We have two sessions before it and everyone will want to play so it is going to be an interesting seven days.”

A hugely impressive first period for the hosts saw them go ahead on 21 minutes courtesy of a Marc Williams strike, but they missed a host of chances to seal the victory and were made to pay for their lack of conviction in-front of goal on 78 minutes when John Disney levelled matters for the Lakesiders.
