LLANDUDNO face their biggest game of the JD Welsh Premier League season so far when they travel to Cefn Druids on Saturday.

A win would see Tudno book their place in the top six ahead of the split following the final round of fixtures, but they face a difficult proposition against the Wrexham-based side, who have enjoyed one of the finest campaigns in their recent history.

Sports reporter Dean Jones outlines three key areas that could tip the scales in the favour of the former Europa League qualifiers.

Utilise their ball carriers:

Manager Iwan Williams is blessed to have a number of people that can dictate the tempo of a game, and that will be a key component to any success they will get at The Rock.

Midfield talisman Danny Hughes has once again demonstrated his immense qualities this season, and the way he performs will go a long way to determining the outcome of this shootout for the top six.

The former Rhyl playmaker has wonderful vision and can pick out a pass from just about anywhere on the field, while he has also chipped in with some key goals throughout the campaign which has sometimes been missing from his game over the years.

There will also be a huge responsibility on Marc Williams to hold the ball up and give his defensive unit some time to regroup during difficult stages of the contest, with the club’s top scorer operating in a different role since Williams took over to great effect.

These two senior members of the squad will need to stand up and be counted if they are to achieve their ultimate goal in-front of the S4C Sgorio cameras.

The Naim Arsan threat:

Huw Griffiths’ side possess some significant dangermen in a multitude of areas, but Arsan is one that will have to be monitored carefully and nullified if they are to stand any chance of securing a notable victory.

The Welsh futsal international has the ability to make things happen with his surging runs down the flank, and the onus will be on Tudno to ensure he is unable to influence proceedings from wide areas for the entire 90 minutes.

They have generally been very solid and organised under Williams and this has given them a shot of reaching the top six in their final game before the split, and they must defend as a unit once again against a Druids forward line that have proven to be vulnerable at stages during the season.

Take their chances:

Goals have been something of a problem during the season for Llandudno, and it is hugely important that they make the very most of any opportunities that come their way during a clash that could be decided by the slimmest of margins.

In Toby Jones, Marc Williams and Matty Williams they have proven goalscorers at this level who are all widely regarded as lethal finishers, while the prolific Marc Evans made an encouraging return during their draw with Bala Town last weekend.

The Druids defence is a formidable proposition with goalkeeper and captain Michael Jones in outstanding form, and in former Tudno defender Nathan Peate they have someone at the very top of their game.
