LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams has challenged his side to put in a good performance when they host Ruthin Town in the JD Welsh Cup fourth round on Saturday.

After narrowly missing out on a top six berth with a draw at Cefn Druids, Williams has stated that he is expecting his team to perform for the remainder of the campaign starting against the Huws Gray Alliance outfit in-front of the S4C Sgorio cameras.

Chris Williams’ reached this stage by securing a shock 3-0 triumph at top-flight strugglers Prestatyn Town, and they currently sit in tenth spot in the HGA standings.

He said: “They have to perform from now until the end of the season. It’s as simple as that, whether it’s in the Welsh Cup or in our league campaign.

“We have to be mentally strong on a consistent basis at this level and the players have already shown they can deal with adversity and implement game plans against the best and I’m confident they will apply themselves as professionally as possible going into the game against Ruthin. We as a Management team will be demanding that also.

“The preparation will remain the same as it would be if we were playing against TNS and will give them the respect they deserve.

“They’re a good side who work hard for one another. My view is that no opposition is weak opposition in the Welsh Cup and the players must share that view.”

The recently appointed boss held a special questions and answer session with supporters, where he outlined his ambitions for the club and what he wants to accomplish going forward.

“The Q&A went very well in which I was honest and gave them an indication of the direction that I want to take this football club and I think they appreciated that,” added Williams.

“I want everyone connected to this fantastic football club pulling in the same direction, and we’re doing that. The reception and support they’ve given me since I’ve come back has made me more driven to bring success to Llandudno Football Club.”
