LLANDUDNO assistant manager Matty Williams challenged his side to bounce back after they suffered a 3-1 loss at Aberystwyth Town.

The JD Welsh Premier League side were left rueing a poor start in their second reverse in succession, and Tudno are now two points off seventh spot ahead of their clash with Carmarthen Town at the Giant Hospitality Stadium on Saturday (2.30pm).

Williams, said: “It was a difficult start to concede so early, and the reaction wasn’t too great as we struggled to get a foothold in the game.

“We didn’t capitalise on key moments or take our chances when they came our way which was disappointing.

“The biggest thing to take out of it is that we have lads in the dressing room that care. We were a lot better in the second half, they took on board what was said and the changes worked well but the basics weren’t right in the first half and you have got to score your chances when you are on top.

“I said it could be nine or three between us and Aber so we are in a right scrap now, but we will dust ourselves down and have two good training sessions before going into the game on Saturday.”

A poor start from the visitors saw them fall behind after just four minutes when John Owen found the bottom corner after beating Danny Shaw to the ball, and they spurned a brilliant chance to level matters on 18 when Sam Hart failed to convert from the spot.

This proved to be the turning point as Nev Powell’s men doubled their advantage soon after Hart gave away a penalty on 24 minutes, which was blasted into the net by Declan Walker.

After the break saw the away side get themselves back into the contest on 47 minutes when Marc Williams prodded home from close range after good work from Danny Hughes and Wes Baynes.

Despite creating numerous chances throughout the second period, they were unable to rescue a share of the spoils and Aber sealed three points in stoppage time when a quick break saw Craig Hobson double their lead.
