LLANDUDNO defender Mike Williams is set to miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

The influential figure sustained the knock during Tudno’s JD Welsh Cup defeat to Newtown on Tuesday night, and his status is bleak for the remainder of the campaign according to manager Iwan Williams.

The former Football League star has been one of the standout performers at the Giant Hospitality Stadium so far this term, and Tudno have been dealt a second blow with the news that midfield talisman Danny Hughes is extremely doubtful for their encounter with Prestatyn Town on Friday.

Hughes was also carted off in the second period against the Robins and faces a race against time to make the squad against the bottom side, but the manager will welcome back Joe Carey, Robbie Parry, Jay Gibbs and Wes Baynes back into the fold.

Williams, said: “It looks like Mike is going to miss the rest of our fixtures wihich is bitterly disappointing, while Danny is also struggling to be fit for the Prestatyn game.

“We do have lads coming back which will hopefully be enough for us to get over the line and secure our safety, so we can then begin preparing for next season.”
