LLANDUDNO’s penultimate game on their travels ended with a disappointing 3-2 reverse at Carmarthen Town.

Iwan Williams’ side were undone by a superb second half fightback from the Old Gold, who take their survival fight into at least one more week after securing three points.

Tudno have just two games remaining before what is sure to be a busy summer of activity, and they entertain Barry Town United on Saturday in their last home game of the campaign (2.30pm).

The home side came out of the blocks flying and were ahead after just one minute of play when Luke Bowen converted an opportunity, but the visitors levelled proceedings immediately following the restart when club stalwart Lee Thomas finished well after a sweeping move on three.

Chances came and went for both sides during a tense first period, but the away side grabbed the initiative for the first time in the contest after the break thanks to Danny Shaw’s effort a minute after the restart.

This provoked a strong response from the hosts, who got back on level terms soon after when Aidan O’Kelly produced a fine strike almost straight from the kick-off.

The deciding moment arrived on 67 minutes when Liam Thomas broke clear and diverted into the net to put the home side ahead once again.

Despite their best efforts, Williams’ men were unable to come up with an equaliser and suffered their 13th defeat in 30 JD Welsh Premier League games this season.

Next up for Tudno is a clash with Barry Town United, who have emerged as the surprise package of the top fight campaign so far and find themselves on the brink of securing a Europa League playoff spot.
