LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams has been busy this week as he re-builds his squad ahead of the new JD Welsh Premier League season.

The Tudno boss has wasted no time in bringing in significant reinforcements before they return for pre-season training, with a number of high-profile arrivals with a distinct family affair attached.

Williams pulled off a transfer coup with the signatures of Kai Edwards and Michael Pearson, two gifted defenders that helped Connah’s Quay to the best defensive record in the top flight last term.

Three more arrived at the Giant Hospitality Stadium from recently relegated Prestatyn Town, with striker Damian Ketley looking to provide a physical presence that was sorely missing at the attacking end of the field throughout the campaign.

Zyaac and Zebb Edwards also agreed deals and will join brother Kai, while playmaking midfielder Jay Gibbs has also re-committed to the club after joining from Huws Gray Alliance champions Caernarfon Town.

The manager has also solved a problem position with the acquisition of goalkeeper Shaun Pearson from Holywell Town, who joins brother Michael within the fold, and Anthony Marshall has penned his first senior deal for Tudno after a successful spell as under 19 captain and with third tier side Llandudno Albion.

These moves offset the departures of the influential trio of Marc Williams, Mike Williams and James Joyce, with the latter believed to be close to joining up with former manager Alan Morgan at Colwyn Bay.

Williams, said: ““The signings are huge for us as a football club and they just epitomise what we want at this club. Fantastic players and whom have a wealth of experience in the league.

“More importantly they are good characters that will hopefully put on us on a path to where we want to go.”
