Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong has declared his trip to Germany for surgery a success.

The 25-year-old midfielder is set for a period out of action after reportedly undergoing a hernia operation after stopping off on the way back from a winter break with the Scottish champions in Dubai.

Armstrong wrote on his Instagram account “successful trip” as he happily posed for a picture with Celtic’s head physiotherapist Tim Williamson at Munich airport on Tuesday afternoon.
