A GROUP of talented sailors continued their incredible recent list of achievements with success at a national competition.
Ewan Luke and Zac Blomeley, Lower Sixth Form pupils at Rydal Penrhos School, were part of the contingent that travelled to Scotland to compete at the RYA Youth National Championships, which were held at Largs Sailing Club.
In hugely challenging conditions with constantly changing weather patterns from light winds and sunshine to howling gales and hailstorms, the duo produced a consistent effort to come away with an eighth placed finish overall, which saw them emerge as the top Welsh team once again in the U19 29er category.
There was further cause for celebration as Harry Pulford finished in 12th position in the same competition alongside partner Toby Cope, with a win in the final race in testing conditions the undoubted highlight of their event.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This is a very encouraging performance from Ewan and Zac, who continue to show enormous promise to be competing with their Great British youth squad counterparts.
“Harry has also come on a significant amount in a relatively short space of time, which is reflected in his high finish and we are thrilled with the way they are progressing.”
