LLANDUDNO continued their excellent run of WRU National League Division One North results with a 28-12 victory over Mold.

The improving side geared up for their clash at title favourites Nant Conwy on March 3 with another polished display, and they went ahead on 12 minutes when a well-worked move following a line-out resulted in Lloyd Evans touching down. Ryan Pike added the extras.

This was swiftly followed by Evans’ second try of the afternoon after another surging drive from the Dudno pack on 21 minutes, with Pike once again firing over the conversion.

They increased their advantage further just before the break when Huw Griffiths rounded off a sweeping team move to cross the whitewash. Pike continued his excellent form with the boot with the extras.

The home side continued their dominance after the interval and sealed the points thanks to a score from Morgan Lloyd which was converted by Pike, but a series of penalties halted their momentum and allowed the visitors back into the contest midway through the half.

This resulted in the away side going over twice in the final quarter courtesy of Jacko Oosterhazen and Brian Kirby, one of which was converted by Jack Pearson, but it was not enough to take the gloss off another good performance as the home side saw out the remainder of the game in comfortable fashion.
