CONWY Borough officially clinched a sensational treble thanks to a 5-1 win over Llanberis.

Gareth Thomas’ side will be heading back to the Huws Gray Alliance after just one season in the third tier after a memorable season that has also seen them pick up the FAW Trophy and Cookson Cup for their efforts.

The Tangerines got off to a fast start and went ahead on eight minutes when Adam Whitlock found the net, and they managed to double their advantage on 44 through Iolo Hughes.

Prolific striker Corrig McGonigle added a third from the penalty spot on 50 minutes to all-but seal the victory, although an own goal immediately after the restart gave the visitors a glimmer of hopes.

This joy proved to be short-lived as the home side restored their three-goal cushion when forward Dean Seager had the simple task of firing home after a defensive lapse, and a thunderous effort from Matty Lock late on complete the rout and clinched the championship.

The fight for third goes on with Llandudno Albion, Llanrwst United and Llanrug United all tasting away defeats at the hands of Greenfield, Mynydd Llandegai and Penrhyndeudraeth respectively.

Prestatyn Sports need just for points from their remaining fixtures to secure the Division Two crown after a 2-1 success at title rivals Glan Conwy.

Ian Griffiths got the away side off to a flyer with a well-taken effort on 15 minutes, only for Sam Sinkinson to level matter after the break on 65.

James Harper popped up with the crucial winner after 67 minutes to seal a vital three points, and they received a further boost with the news that Bodedern Athletic lost 1-0 at Penmaenmawr Phoenix.

Elsewhere, there were victories for Amlwch Town, Bleanau Amateurs and Y Felinheli.
