ST ASAPH City suffered their fifth Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One home loss of the season after a 4-2 reverse at the hands of Llanrug United.

The Saints got off to a poor start and fell behind when Allan Mark Owen found the target on 11 minutes, but they responded well to the setback and levelled matters on 29 through Sion Davies.

After the break saw the visitors completely take charge of proceedings, and they got their noses in front yet with two goals in quick succession from Owen and Luke Phillips on 48 and 50 minutes respectively.

This was swiftly followed by a Jonathan Sadler effort for the away side after 78 minutes, and despite a late consolation from Chris Bennet it was not enough for the struggling hosts.

Prestatyn Sports suffered Take Stock Van Hire Cup semi-final heartache thanks to a late 1-0 defeat at Bodedern Athletic.

A tight contest was settled three minutes from time when Athletic were awarded a penalty, and Stephen Whittaker made no mistake from the spot to oust the Division Two leaders from the competition.

There was better fortune for Meliden, who continued their impressive recent run with a thrilling 4-3 home triumph against Y Felinheli.

Luke Astley, George Szabo, Liam Smith and Paul Mead were all on target for the home side, with Ewan Owen’s hat-trick unable to claim a share of the spoils for the visitors.

Meliden now find themselves in seventh spot with three games of their season remaining following their fifth win on home soil this season.
