KINMEL Bay have passed the necessary ground criteria and will ply their trade in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two next season.

League officials visited their Y Morfa Bay base on Tuesday, May 15, and after a thorough inspection they were granted permission to ply their trade in the fourth tier of the Welsh pyramid after winning the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division title in convincing fashion.

Joint-manager Leon Field, said: “We are very happy to announce we have passed our ground criteria and will play in the Welsh alliance next season.

“I would like to personally thank chairman Bill Darwin, Jim Hay, Alex Craig, Ashley Wood, Ryan Fox and Kie Ellis for all their help in making this possible.”

The news rounds off a memorable season for everyone associated with the ambitious club, who secured the championship last week after a 10-1 victory over a depleted Old Colwyn side.

Field also announced that a large number of the current squad have already committed their futures to the Bay as they look to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in a highly competitive division.

Liam Rowland-Jones, Callum Hardy, Ryan Jones, Jamie Kingsley, Dave Collins, Ash Wood, James Jones, Anthony Jones, Stuart Roberts, Kyle Luffman, Nyal Hughes, Lewis Moroney and captain Jimbo Hay have all agreed to stay on, while top scorer Kie Ellis is another that will turn out for the club once again next term.

Bay are also in the process of acquiring the signature of Jack Lloyd-Williams from Llandudno Albion.
