LLANDUDNO Troop Repair Café is seeking volunteer fixers.
Repair Cafe will take place at Llandudno Troop Cafe, The Coach Park, Mostyn Broadway, on the first Saturday every month between 10am and 12pm.
People visiting the cafe can bring along their broken items, including toasters, lamps, hair dryers, clothes, bikes, toys and crockery. Anything broken (other than microwaves or white goods) is welcome.
Volunteer experts will help make repairs free of charge.
Llandudno Troop are particularly seeking volunteer fixers with skills in the following areas: electrical, sewing/textiles, bikes, IT/computers, woodwork but other more bespoke skills, such as jewellery, are also "most welcome".
A spokesperson for the Llandudno Troop Cafe said: "Llandudno Troop Repair Cafe is seeking volunteer fixers to support their efforts to reduce the number of items going to landfill and to save people money. You don’t need to be a professional fixer to get involved; all you need is to be confident, competent and happy to give your time to make a positive difference to the environment, and to your local community."
Llandudno Troop are also looking for volunteer hosts to welcome visitors to the Repair Cafe and to help with serving refreshments.
Vici Ladeji, from Repair Café Wales, said: "Due to the cost-of-living crisis it has never been more important to help support communities to open local repair cafes.
"Every year, we throw away huge amounts in Wales, even items which have very little wrong with them, and which could easily be used again after a simple repair. Many people don’t feel confident to repair things themselves and sometimes we forget that we can have things repaired, instead of using up valuable resources by buying new items.

Llandudno Troop Repair Cafe is being supported by Repair Café Wales, which has established a network of volunteer-led Repair Cafes across Wales around the values of waste reduction, community cohesion and skill-sharing.
