FIRE services have attended four incidents in Conwy so far today (October 20).

Flooding from torrential rain caused by Storm Babet has devastated North Wales today, with several schools, businesses and roads closing.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We are continuing to work with Emergency Service and Local Authority partners across North Wales to ensure a co-ordinated approach to the weather conditions.

“Our response to incidents is based upon the threat, harm and risk to life. We are currently experiencing a very high volume of calls and would ask that in the first instance, you check our social media channels for updates.

“This will allow us to deal with urgent and emergency calls faster.”

Fire services were called to the following incidents:

  • 15.49 – Llanfairtalhaiarn, Conwy – internal flooding
  • 14.13 – Llandudno – internal flooding
  • 13.05 – Betws yn Rhos – vehicle stuck in water
  • 12.44 - Craig y Don, Conwy – internal flooding
