NORTH Wales Road Runners Club (NWRRC) member  Llyr Ap Geraint-Roberts has gained qualification to the GB team for the 2025 Duathlon Championships.

This followed him finishing third in his respective age category during a qualifying event held on March 24 on the East Fortune Race Circuit, near Edinburgh.

Llyr competed in a 5k run, followed by a 21k bike ride, and a final 2.5k run, with his times and age category position ensuring him an automatic qualification.

After the event, he confirmed: “I secured my qualification for the 2025 championships by finishing in the top four of my age group at this event (I missed out at Castle Combe at the beginning of March).

“Overall, I came 24th out of 110 entrants, and I was third in my age group, which ensured automatic qualification.

“I don’t yet know where, or when, in 2025 the championships will be held.”
