A WITNESS has been interviewed police about the death of a Colwyn Bay teenager in London 40 years ago.

Scotland Yard launched a fresh appeal to solve the case of Peter Watts, a 15-year-old in January.

Peter was last seen by his parents alive on January 18 1976, after he was found collapsed below a bridge at Euston Road underpass the following day, and later died in hospital.

A post mortem examination gave the cause of death as head injuries consistent with a fall.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed an individual who had new information came forward on January 19 this year.

He was spoken to the same day and a statement was taken on January 20.  The information is being investigated and enquiries are ongoing, added the spokewoman. Anyone who may have information should telephone 020 7230 7963 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
