?AN animal charity is looking for donations from dog lovers after the surprise arrival of ten puppies.

Helen Wilkes, of Hector’s Greyhound Rescue, is currently looking after the four week old pups at her home in Rhos on Sea and is hoping to be able to rehome them and their mother, Angel, after Christmas.

The charity, which has been running for 18 months, is calling for donations to help feed, vaccinate, neuter and microchip the new arrivals.

Ms Wilkes said: “We had a call from a lady who had a greyhound that needed rehoming but when I got here I found she was not a greyhound – I think she is a whippet and bull terrier cross and she was heavily pregnant.

“The number of puppies was a surprise, we were expecting six or seven but we ended up with ten.

“They are doing really well, they all looked the same at the start because their dad is a black labrador, but they are starting to change now.

“We are a small charity and we take in any sight hounds that need us. Any small donations would be fantastic.”

Ms Wilkes said although the charity hopes to rehome the pups after Christmas, anyone interested in taking one in can arrange to see them beforehand and discuss their adoption.
