Experts have begun the final part of assessing Colwyn Bay Pier as part of a council's plans to demolish the structure.
Conwy County Borough Council confirmed that engineers spotted on site today -Friday, December 9 -are carrying out the final part of the structural assessment on the pier, which will form part of the authority's planning application (to be submitted in the new year) to demolish it.
A spokesperson for the council said the new proposals will take into account recommendations made by Carl Sargeant AM following the refusal of the previous application - for listed building demolition consent - in October last year.
The inspection comes after businessman Steve Hunt’s final attempt to have ownership of Colwyn Bay Pier vested in him failed.
