A trio of old souls from Rhuddlan will bring their startling vocal harmonies to set off a good old fashioned Texan style knees up in Llandudno.

Rising stars The Goat Roper Band will kick off the first 3rd Space Brewery Country Music Texas BBQ of 2018, with an evening of wild country filled to the brim with fresh, energetic and impassioned vocals in the cosmic vein of Gram Parsons and the Everley Brothers.

Moving masterfully between up tempo, joyous gospel and bringing their three part harmonies to bear on an almost Townes Van Zandt esque melancholy, the Goat Roper Rodeo band have staggeringly managed to blend the entire pantheon of country legends into their own unique - and youthful - soundscape.

All the more impressive when you consider that the band of prematurely world weary twentysomethings have only been plying their trade since 2012.

The prematurely lonesome and weary twenty-somethings have garnered quite the acclaim in 6 short years, touring tirelessly - from gardens, folk clubs and small venues right up to festivals such as Wrexham’s Focus Wales and even Dorset's Bestival.

Their 2016 second album Country Music Blue - which couldn’t be more straight to the point - was picked up by Romeo Stodart of the English Mercury Prize nominated, top ten family band The Magic Numbers.

Mr Stodart said: "The Goat Ropers are the real deal.

“I was blown away when I first saw them play and heard them harmonise, I wanted desperately to join in. If there’s any justice in this crazy world, they’ll soon be a household name and we’ll all be keeping it country with them.”

To really set the night off right, and bring a real Southern welcome 3rd Space will also offer a touch of soul food to enjoy, with a menu including brisket and ribs.

The Goat Roper Rodeo Band and special guest Ned Roberts will be at 3rd Space at the Great Orme Brewery at 7pm on Friday, February 23.

Tickets are £8 in advance from 3rdspace.wales, or £10 on the door.
