PAY and display ticket parking on the Colwyn Bay promenade came into effect just in time for school holidays.
The ticket machines were switched on on Monday, with paid parking expected to turn away a number of visitors to the Colwyn Bay beach area.
Phil Hw, on the Pioneer Facebook page last week, said: "That’s the last time we’ll be parking on the prom then. Don’t subsidise greedy Conwy CBC."
Nathan Davies said: "Colwyn Bay is ment to be slowly building its self back up, but this will have an impact."
While most readers said ticketed parking would cause drivers to avoid the area, one disagreed.
Bridget Martin said: "We have paid to park in Llandudno for ages. Doesn't effect much - people are used to paying to park."
Ticketed parking, which will be in operation between 10am and 4pm everyday, will run from the Colwyn Bay's Victoria Pier to Rotary Way.
To park in these areas drivers will be forced to fork out 50p for an hours parking, £1 for two hours, £2.50 for four and £3.50 for more than five hours.
