EIGHT Colwyn Bay young people were presented with grants for high sporting, artistic and educational achievement.
The awards from the Sir John Henry Morris Jones Trust, were presented by the Mayor of Colwyn Bay, Cllr Steve Williams last week.
They were: Imogen Camp for chess; Bobi Jones for athletics; Moli Jones for athletics; Sara Millband for wheelchair basketball; Jack Jones for windsurfing; Sam Saunders for windsurfing; Bethan Seaman for musical theatre and Will Sissons for cricket.
Cllr Williams said: “It amazes me our town produces such a wealth of dedicated and talented young people.”
Chairman of the trustees, Jim Barry, said: “The winners have shown outstanding ability and dedication.
I want to encourage anyone aged under 19, from Colwyn Bay who can demonstrate high achievement in the arts, sport or education, to contact the Town Clerk, tel: 01492 532248 to find out how the Trust can help support them.”
