Just when you thought yoga couldn't get more relaxing, a county-based therapy company have found a way.

Ananda Yoga and Therapies has come up with "harp yoga". The new project incorporates the soothing tones of the harp joining up with the meditation and relaxation of yoga.

A number of sessions have already been held in the area, with the "magical" and "blissful" 1 hour and 15 minute meditation earning rave reviews from attendees.

A Deganwy resident, having attended a session, said: "I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really nice having the live harp music complimenting the yoga moves.

"I also really liked the way the session went from ‘flow’ yoga to the lovely, nourishing yin yoga in the second half. I found Sam really clear and easy to follow as a teacher, and the hands on help with postures was very welcome, especially the ones I was unfamiliar with.

"Having the harp there was a novelty for me, and worked so well. I noticed there were pieces I recognised, as well as what seemed to be improvisations to fit with and compliment the yoga moves as they unfolded.

"It was especially lovely sinking into the yin poses with the ambient harp sounds as accompaniment in the background! The pace of the session was just right.

The sessions are run by Source Yoga teacher Samantha Hare, who is accompanied by Helen Wyn Pari on the harp.

Attendees of harp yoga sessions will use breathing techniques to quiet and balance the mind, followed by long held meditatively soothing yin and restorative postures. Ending with a final relaxation lulled into a heavenly place with the healing sounds and vibrations.

Ms Hare said: "We are becoming more aware of just how beneficial yoga and its many forms are for restoring much needed rest and vitality to the body and mind.

"There is also credible research to suggest that listening to live harp music can also reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, balance blood pressure, decrease pain, promote feelings of wellbeing and improve sleep."

The nest session is set to be held at Source Yoga in Mochdre, but due to its popularity is already full.
