Ysgol Bodafon students have been crowned North Wales champions at the F1 in Schools competition.
The competition sees students designing and manufacturing CO2-powered model racing cars using sophisticated computer aided design software and computer aided manufacture techniques.
The school's team, Lightening Strikers, were named North Wales champions recently for their construction of a Jaguar 2D car, pit stop display, design portfolio and presentation.
This win saw them compete in the national competition, held at the British Motor Museum on Wednesday, June 20, where they were named runners-up in the electrical car category against more than 30 other schools.
The cars are raced along a 20 metre track at speeds of around 60mph. Teams are assessed on the speed of the car, promotional materials, displays showing their design process and a verbal presentation.
