A new scheme will make it easier for dog owners in Llandudno to know which businesses will welcome in their four legged friends.

"Dog Welcome" stickers are now appearing in retail outlets, cafes, restaurants, B&Bs and other stores in Llandudno.

The stickers are placed in business windows and lets customers know it's alright to have their dog with them on the premises.

Administrator of the Facebook group North Wales Pet Owners, George Good, came up with the idea with Colwyn Bay's Neil Fowler designing the stickers.

Mr Good said he was amazed with the number of business that had already come onboard and the list continued to grow.

He said: "This (the stickers) is good for business, as it creates footfall and it also relieves dogs from separation anxiety. This means they're not being tied up outside the shops or worse left in hot cars.

"Since running the scheme, Llandudno Tourist Board have assisted me and Llandudno Hospitality Association have now got on board & help fund this.

"Not only that, from this scheme a national dog friendly magazine has entered Llandudno into a national competition for 'most dog friendly place to visit in the UK'."

Businesses are still able to come onboard with the scheme and display these stickers in their window.

Those interested are encouraged to contact Mr Good at the O2 store in Llandudno, Neil Fowler at Daniel James Salon in Colwyn Bay or the Conwy Chamber of Trade.

Dog owners and businesses have taken to the North Wales Pet Owners Pet Owners Facebook page to express their views on the stickers.

Businesses have been lining up to get onboard with the scheme while pet owners have praised the idea.
