A man has denied attempting to murder a customer during a knife attack at a Rhos-on-Sea restaurant.
Dalton Thomas Morrisey, 25, of Pen y Cwm, Llandudno appeared at Mold Crown Court where he entered a not guilty plea to attempting to murder Gareth Edwards, 32, at Hickory’s Smokehouse in the resort on August 10 this year.
Morrisey admitted two further charges. He pleaded guilty to wounding Mr Edwards with intent and possessing a knife at the Llandudno Road establishment on the same date.
Prosecutor Elen Owen said those pleas alone were not acceptable to the Crown who would pursue a trial in relation to the other linked matter.
Judge Rhys Rowlands, who appeared from Cardiff Crown Court via video link, set a provisional date for Morrisey’s trial on January 28 next year, but said the defendant would have to attend a pre-trial hearing on December 10 at Mold.
Morrisey was remanded in custody.
