Following extensive refurbishments, student toilets at Ysgol John Bright have been twinned with schools in Malawi.
Having learnt about the issue of basic sanitation in poorer countries John Bright students set about raising funds for two toilet blocks in schools overseas.
A non-uniform day was held to raise the funds for the building of the two toilet blocks.
Deputy headteacher, Hywel Parry, said: "Some time ago we held a series of assemblies looking at the issue of basic sanitation in poorer countries.
“Students were challenged by the issue, and could see how a basic provision we take for granted is an almost unattainable goal for young people of their own age in other parts of the world.
“As a community here at YJB it’s important that students gain the qualifications they need for their lives, but are also aware of, and are actively involved in, making the world a better place, even if it is one toilet at a time."
